Bikram (Hot yoga)
I love my Bikram yoga classes. I try to go four times a week to get all the benefits this practice has to offer. I have been going for over two years now and have noticed bigger changes in my body on the weeks I go four times as opposed to three. Bikram consists of a set of 26 postures that are each performed twice. The room is set to 105°, with 40% humidity for the 90 minute class. You can burn around 600 calories in a session. For the past ten years or so I have tried all kinds of exercise from running outside to the stairmaster and elliptical machines to P90X but I would always dread the workout. I would get so bored! When I tried Bikram, it completely changed my idea of exercise. It is something I enjoy and actually look forward to. It is something I can imagine myself doing throughout my life; people of all ages practice at my studio. I completely believe anyone can do it (unless you are pregnant)!
