I absolutely hate being stressed. When I was younger I did not deal well with the effects of stress. Usually I would end up shutting down and going to bed. I have learned over time to recognize when I start feeling that way and manage the stress before it takes over me. The facts above are fabulous and right on I think.
I have put together a general list of activities to help work through stress. Something I have done with clients is put together a list of activities they enjoy doing, then they can look to that list when stress is coming on. Whether they have five minutes to meditate, 30 minutes to go for a walk, or an hour to reach out to a family member, that list is something to refer to. That way they have a strategy to handle stress in that moment.
