Drinking tea in the afternoon has become a favorite past time for me and Perkin. During the work week it isn't always possible to have this simple pleasure but on the weekends we always make time for it. We will stop whatever we are doing to take a 30 minute break and sip on some tea. It's a great time for us to connect and slow down. We love green tea and found a fabulous little shop in Monterey called Cha-ya that sells the best loose leaves. Beyond the enjoyment of a yummy hot drink there are so many benefits of tea. Depending on the variety a cup may provide antioxidants, lower cholesterol, protect your immune system, lower levels of inflammation, decrease risk of stroke, and reduce cortisol levels. So drink up!
