Mindful Minute: The Sensory Experience of Nature

The next time you are out in nature this is a great mindfulness exercise to practice. For one minute (or longer if you'd like) tune into the full sensory experience of where you're at. Tune into the sounds in nature (ocean, birds, rustling of leave), tune into the smells (salty air, pine trees, fresh breeze), how the air feels against your skin and the temperature outside, and notice what you are seeing (colors, views, lighting from the sky). Notice how you feel, if this is a pleasant sight, and allow yourself to feel completely connected to your natural surroundings. We are all one on this planet, part of nature, totally dependent on what nature has to provide (e.g. water, oxygen, food) so use this mindful minute exercise as a way to reconnect to that from which we have come. Happy Weekend!
